The Arsenal legend reflected on Salah’s impressive form and whether the Egyptian has what it takes to become the best.

Thierry Henry thinks Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah can become the best player in the world if he maintains his current form.

With 20 goals in 21 games across all competitions, Salah is arguably in the best form of his career. The Egyptian’s feats have earned widespread praise from several pundits. In fact, Alan Shearer recently proclaimed him as the world’s best player – ahead of even Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

But while Henry agrees that Salah is on the right path, the way the Liverpool man likes to share the ball in games this season is what pleases him most.

“I think that Mo Salah, right now, is just scary. But that’s the past three to four months,” Henry told GQ.

“So, is he on his way to be that [the best player in the world]? I believe that, but he needs to maintain that. What I like about him now is, he’s happier to share the ball earlier.

“So now he needs to know that he has to make players play better. He’s doing that and I love that about him this year. I already used to love the way he finishes, the way he scores his goals.

“Now he likes to share, and that’s when I’m like, uh-oh. Hang on a minute. He’s changing.

“This is why I believe that he’s on his way. Is he there yet? I don’t think he’s there yet. Is he on the way to be? Yes, he’s on his way to be.”
