Thiago Silva revealed a special message that Frank Lampard sent him and the ‘honor’ it is to play under the Chelsea icon.

Lampard sent Silva a photo of themselves together on the pitch in a friendly between England and Brazil in June 2013, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Seven years later, the now-Chelsea boss coaches the center-back at Stamford Bridge and is already reaping the rewards of signing him.

The former Paris Saint-Germain skipper has made a positive start to his Premier League career and recently scored his first goal in last weekend’s 4-1 win over Sheffield United.

“When I was about to sign with Chelsea when I said ok, he sent me a message with a photo of us shaking hands as captains at the Maracana, in the friendly between Brazil and England,” revealed Silva as quoted on Metro.

“I hope to do the best I can at Chelsea. It is an honor to play for them and to be coached by one of the best midfielders in history. He is amazing to have in the changing room, to exchange ideas, and to help out wherever he can.”

Silva will have to wait until November 21 at the earliest to suit up once more for Chelsea in a league trip to Newcastle United.
