Thiago Alcantara is closing in on his long-awaited move to Liverpool after sending his goodbyes to his Bayern Munich teammates.

Thiago Alcantara and Liverpool have struck an agreement over a four-year contract, as the Spaniard edges closer to Bayern Munich exit.

After agreeing on personal terms with the 29-year-old midfielder, the Reds now have to convince the stubborn Bundesliga outfit to give the go-ahead.

According to RMC Sport, Jurgen Klopp’s side and Thiago are on the same page when it comes to contractual terms, as witnessed by former Barcelona man’s latest gesture.

The playmaker has informed his Bayern comrades of his resolve to link up with newly-crowned Premier League champions and has reportedly already found a residence in Liverpool.

The 37-cap Spain international joined the ‘Bavarians’ in 2013 and has gone on to rack up 233 games in all competitions and even add 31 goals to his name.

Despite his departure for the Merseyside powerhouse became a near-certainty, Hansi Flick fielded Thiago from the first minute in an 8-2 thumping of Barcelona.

The inspirational midfielder is also expected to start for Bayern when they lock horns with Lyon in the Champions League semi-final clash.
