The latest reported figures for the best-paid football players in 2021 across Europe’s biggest leagues have been announced.
Lionel Messi is the best-paid football player in Europe this season. The Barcelona captain will earn an incredible €126 million (pre-tax), which is €71.64m more than his nearest rival Cristiano Ronaldo makes with Juventus.
In a study conducted by French outlet L’Equipe, Messi nets around €10.5m each month at Barcelona. He is comfortably the best-paid football player in the world, let alone Europe, and earns more than double what anybody else makes.
Ronaldo, in comparison, reportedly makes €4.53m per month at Juventus and an annual total of €54.36m.

Neymar rounds off the top three of the highest-earners in Europe and Ligue 1’s best-paid star, according to L’Equpe. The Paris Saint-Germain star is set to profit €36.72m for this year (taxes excluded), including €3.06m-per-month.
Messi’s Barcelona teammate Antoine Griezmann and Atletico Madrid star Luis Suarez both earn €2.9m a month, and a whopping €34.8m every year.
Eden Hazard, meanwhile, takes the honor of the best-paid Real Madrid player on €2.5m-per-month ahead of Sergio Ramos, who makes €2m every month.
