Salah broke another all-time record to further cement his place in Liverpool’s history.
Steven Gerrard has named Mohamed Salah as his favourite player in Liverpool’s current squad.
Salah became Liverpool’s all-time top-scorer in the Premier League by scoring twice against Manchester United last weekend.
A historic night at Anfield saw the Reds humiliate their arch-rivals 7-0 as Salah reached another Liverpool milestone. The Egyptian star made it 129 Premier League goals in 205 EPL matches for the Reds.
In a conversation between Gerrard and Salah on Liverpool’s official website, the retired legend said: “My favourite [Liverpool player] Now?
“It’s you. It has to be you because my Lio, he’s obsessed.
“He loves you more than me, you’re the only human he loves more than me! I’m second.”
Another Liverpool legend, Sir Kenny Dalglish, has also hailed Salah’s achievement.
“Every achievement by any individual should never be undermined or overlooked,” the Liverpool great told Liverpool’s website.
“It’s a fantastic achievement and he has done it in a short space of time, shorter than maybe Robbie did.”
Salah has registered 11 goals and seven assists despite Liverpool’s struggle for consistency this season. The Reds hope to build on their incredible win over Man Utd when they face Bournemouth this weekend.
