The Sky Blues were no match for their Championship opponents as they comfortably sealed a place in the draw for the fourth round.

Manchester City are determined to lift their seventh FA Cup trophy this season, suggests Zack Steffen as he highlights his side’s ambitions in the “important competition”.

Pep Guardiola’s men cruised to a 3-0 win over Birmingham City, with Bernardo Silva scoring a brace and Phil Foden finding the net once.

Sunday’s win at the Etihad marked the seventh successive home win for them in the FA Cup, their best home winning run in the competition in over seven decades.

The Sky Blues are now alive in two cup competitions, having progressed to the Carabao Cup final in midweek, and are also competing with Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

“We want to lift as many trophies as we can. We want to win as many games as we can, and we want to play as best as we can by playing the best football,” Steffen told the club’s official website

“It was nice to get my first FA Cup match under my belt. I hope to play more cup games as the season goes on so this is an important competition for all of us and one we want to win. We want to lift this trophy.”
