Spalletti makes a special request to all his Napoli players

Ahead of their upcoming Europa League match, Luciano Spalletti made a specific request to all his Napoli players right before facing Spartak.

Luciano Spalletti is well aware of what SSC Napoli can be capable of doing this season in all competitions. The Italian squad is playing a level of football none of their fans have seen in over three decades. That’s right, this squad is already starting to recall some of the football from the Diego Maradona days. We are talking about a team that is fluid on the attack and solid on the defense. But more importantly, they are all pushing forward together with all the joy to play the beautiful game intact.

Spalletti spoke to the Serie A’s official website ahead of their upcoming Europa League match against Spartak Moscow. They are set to play at Diego Maradona Stadium in front of a large crowd on Thursday. As the game approaches, the manager is eager to see if the players can translate their perfect form from the domestic to the international tournament. Right now, SSC Napoli is at the top of Serie A with all their matches won with 16 scored goals in 6 matches. Hopefully, this Napoli side can remain consistent.

Spalletti hopes the best for next Thursday.

As per the Serie A website, this is what Spalletti said: “We need to maintain consistency in our results in Europe. I expect to see the same type of performance we’ve shown thus far. We’ve maintained a constant level and we’ve been making the most of the five substitutions. We’re also getting players back from injury through personalized programs. I have a squad full of players who are willing to do what’s asked of them. Their enthusiasm is helping us to train well. I’ll have virtually a full squad tomorrow.

“We know we need to give 100% in order to continue our run of positive results. The result we got at Leicester was important from a mental perspective. We kept our composure even after going two goals down, then showed character and mentality. That’s what we need moving forward. We have to get into the mindset of viewing every match as one we want to win, without overthinking things. It’s essential for us to have that close human relationship with our fans. We can always feel the passion of the Napoli fans, though, even when they’re not at the stadium. There’s total alignment between the city and the team.”
