After another smashing victory against Sampdoria today, SSC Napoli position themselves as the Serie A squad to beat this season.

SSC Napoli is currently five wins out of five matches in Serie A, a perfect start to the season with nearly perfect numbers that paces them as the Top Dog in Italy. It was just last season when we saw a shift in power by watching Juventus lose their decade-long dominance. Inter Milan won the Serie A for the first time since that historic treble season under Jose Mourinho. Napoli had always been lurking around in the background with only some moments of brilliance to remember every year. But their transfer work last season gave them the necessary weapons to have a competitive side that could help them become title contenders.

Victor Osimhen and Hirving Lozano’s arrivals were long-term wagers that are finally giving results. With his brace against Sampdoria today, he moves two goals from the top of the goal-scoring table with three goals. He’s suddenly delivered impressive numbers with five goals in his last three games between Serie A and Europa League. At this current pace, he might be one of Napoli’s most important players this season. But the Naples side needed one more piece in order to work as we as they have tonight.

Hirving Lozano comes back in perfect form.

After the horrible tackle he suffered while playing for the Mexican National Team, Hirving Lozano returned last week against Udinese. He scored his side’s last goal in a wild performance from Luciano Spalletti’s side. Today, he earned his place in the starting eleven and he didn’t disappoint. By staying on the pitch in the second half, Lozano responded by delivering two brilliant assists.

One for Osimhen and another one for Zielinski. Needless to say, Napoli just became a lot more powerful with ‘Chucky’ playing on the wings. With this 0-4 victory, the squad from Naples is starting to play football we hadn’t seen since the Diego Maradona days. The Argentine legend must be smiling from heaven while looking at what his beloved Napoli is becoming. At 15 points, they are the Serie A Top Dogs and there are few clubs that can do anything to stop them.
