From King Power Stadium, we bring you the player ratings for this fresh Europa League game between Leicester City and Napoli.

Leicester City stepped into this game with an overall motivation to fix last year’s Europa League disaster as they faced a tough Italian side, Napoli. With inconsistency surrounding the air around the Foxes, Brendan Rodgers put up a strong side coming into this match. On the other hand, Luciano Spaletti’s men were determined to secure another win having won against Juventus in Serie A.

The hosts, however, made the first impact on the game within 10 minutes as Ayoze Perez converted a fluidic cross from Harvey Barnes and put it behind David Ospina. Soon, the visitors began taking control of this terrific encounter. Napoli dominated most of the game with a total of 22 shots and 54 % possession. But, Kasper Schmeichel protected the Leicester goal for as long as possible until the end of the first half.

Osimhen helps the Italian side make a comeback.

Barnes opened up the second half with a clinical left-footed finish in the 64th minute. At this point, any other team would have given up because, with Schmeichel and the Leicester defence, it was impossible to score. Although constant attempts provided them with the breakthrough and their first goal that occurred in the 68th minute.

Fabian Ruiz directed the ball into Victor Osimhen’s path and the Nigerian leapt forward to lift the ball over the Leicester goalkeeper. We could see that Napoli was stimulated to score the equaliser and possibly win the game by the number of attempts they made tonight. Finally, a floating cross from substitute Matteo Politano was met in the air by Osimhen for the fourth goal of the match.
