The South Korean was the difference between the contestants of Sunday’s showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Son Heung-min says he could stay at Tottenham for “more than 10 years” while insisting he “doesn’t want to move somewhere else.”

Tottenham secured a surprise win against Manchester City in their 2021-22 Premier League opener, with Son’s sole second-half strike separating the two sides at the end of 90 minutes.

The  29-year-old has been a mainstay in the Spurs squad in recent years, having scored over a century of goals for the club since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2015.

Other than his excellent footballing abilities, it is the attacker’s amicable demeanour that has helped him become a fan favourite.

“Yes, if I can stay for another four years and football is never promised, so let’s see,” said Son, who recently committed to a new four-year deal at Tottenham, speaking to Sky Sport.

“That’s why I signed because I don’t want to move again somewhere else.

“I could be here for 10 years or more than 10 years, you never know what’s going to happen in the future, but I try to be focused every day, I try to improve every day and every single season.

“I think that the mindset is more important than the testimonial after 10 years.”
