The Red Devils boss gave a pretty definite answer on whether to expect any new recruits in the January transfer market.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be ‘surprised’ if Manchester United bring in any new players before the winter transfer window shuts on February 1.

The Norwegian signed Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles, Edinson Cavani, and Facundo Pellistri on big-money deals last summer. He has also recently welcomed Amad Diallo, who completed his long-awaited €21m transfer from Atalanta.

And with United on the hunt for a first Premier League title since 2013, along with their strong run of form, Solskjaer has no immediate plans to bring another new face into his squad.

“I wouldn’t think so, no. I’d be surprised if we do any incomings,” said the United manager as quoted on Goal.

“The squad is strong, it’s full of quality. I still need to leave players out for the squad at times.

“Bar something surprising happening, I wouldn’t think something will happen [in terms of] incomings, no.”

Solskjaer and United return to action on Wednesday night for a Premier League clash with Sheffield United at Old Trafford.
