All eyes would be on Edinson Cavani as Manchester United take on the striker’s former side PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday.

It could be an emotional night for Edinson Cavani with the Uruguayan forward set to face his former side.

The Red Devils host PSG in game-week five of the Champions League for what could turn out to be a crunch clash.

United need only one point from the fixture to secure a spot in the round of 16 and a loss could mean the very worst for the French giants.

Cavani is in good spirits after inspiring a comeback for United against Southampton at the weekend. He is in line to play a part against a club where he became their record goal-scorer during his seven-year stint.

United boss Ole Solskjaer knows how emotional such scenarios can be for players but expects the 33-year-old to remain professional.

“It’s always special for players to see your old mates and friends and, of course, the career he had at PSG was fantastic.” the United boss said to the club’s website.

“He’s so professional and he’s ready to participate and he’s another one who is holding his hand up, saying ‘I want to play this one”.

Speaking further about whether starting Cavani might be a dilemma for him, Solskjaer says it is one he very much welcomes.

“Brilliant! [Smiles] That is the challenge that you want. I really dislike saying to someone you’re not starting or you take away the possibility of playing in big games. But they’re all big games. Every three days, there is another one and another one, so we’ve got plenty of games coming up.”

Anthony Martial is back in contention after recovering from an illness and Solskjaer must now decide whether to start the Frenchman or stick with Cavani after a fine showing at the weekend.
