The Red Devils boss is keen on bolstering his squad as he wants his team to challenge for the league title next season.

Manchester United could sign “two or three players” when the transfer market reopens in the summer, says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he discusses the club’s transfer plans.

Solskjaer offloaded a number of United’s first-team players ahead of his first full season in charge of the club. Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian, among others, were sold while Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Daniel James were brought in.

The Norwegian boss, as per reports, will continue with the squad building process this summer. Phil Jones, Sergio Romero, Juan Mata are those understood to be surplus to requirements while Harry Kane and Jadon Sancho are said to be on the Red Devils’ transfer wishlist.

“We’re planning as we normally do. It’s not like end of season and let’s see what we do, that’s an ongoing process,” said Solskjaer, via Goal.

“We are looking at the squad, the players who are going to stay, those who might be leaving and I hope that we’re going to strengthen with a few.. two or three players that we definitely need to challenge higher up in the table.

“We’re still too far behind to think it is just going to come by itself.”
