The former Arsenal defender has given his new Olympiacos squad pointers ahead of the Europa League tie against Arteta’s side.
Olympiacos winger Bruma has revealed Sokratis Papastathopoulos has shared his inside knowledge of Arsenal ahead of Thursday’s Europa League tie.
The former Gunners defender left Mikel Arteta’s side in January amid a lack of opportunities and signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Olympiacos.
Sokratis has since made nine appearances for the Greek champions and is set to face his old side in the Europa League this week.
Arsenal will be out for revenge in the last-16 tie, having lost to Olympiacos in the last-32 stage last season on an away goal ruling after finishing 2-2 on aggregate.
But it seems Pedro Martins’ side have a new ace up their sleeves.
“He has told us some secrets, but I won’t tell you about any of them,” Bruma told Goal. “It’s between us and Sokratis.
“Of course, he knows Arsenal’s locker room better than anyone.
“He is a player with a lot of experience, he’s played for Milan, Dortmund and Arsenal who are all great, great clubs.
“So Sokratis is a very good voice, he’s been helping a lot in the locker room and he’s been helping the team a lot with his experience. We are really pleased to have him here and I’m sure he’s going to be a big help on Thursday.”
