Ahead of Wednesday’s match against Chelsea, Diego Simeone thinks Joao will help Suarez finally end his goal drought in London.

Luis Suarez has been carrying an away goal drought in the Champions League that Simeone thinks could end today. The Uruguay international scored his last away goal in this competition back in late 2015. Since then, he hasn’t been able to score for either Barça or Atletico Madrid. But ‘Cholo’ is convinced Suarez has what it takes to finally end this torture.

In fact, he thinks Joao Felix will be the player who can help Luis overcome this obstacle against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Keep in mind that Thomas Tuchel has an advantage against Atletico Madrid after beating them 0-1 at the Metropolitano. The Blues has massively improved since the German manager arrived to replace Frank Lampard. Simeone is aware of the major threat that Chelsea poses to his players, but he trusts the attacking duo he has.

Joao Felix can help Suarez score.

It’s not only Luis Suarez Chelsea needs to worry about, Joao Felix will play from the start as well. According to Simeone, the pressure that the youngster has at the moment won’t carry over to affect him in a negative manner. He actually thinks that Felix can help Luis Suarez end that away goal drought he’s been carrying since his days at FC Barcelona. If he plays behind the striker as a playmaker, Joao can become one of the most dangerous players in the world.

This is what ‘Cholo’ told the press through AS earlier today: “Joao Felix will play from the start and today is probably the day Luis cuts that negative streak. Suarez is very important for us. We still don’t know what can happen from a negative result they have against them for the first time this season. Nobody will know until this match takes place.”
