A surprise transfer rumor has claimed Liverpool have ‘been offered’ Dybala, but should they take it or not? Barnes gives his verdict.

John Barnes reckons it ‘wouldn’t make any sense’ for Liverpool to sign Paulo Dybala considering they only recently signed Diogo Jota on a €44.7m deal from Wolves.

A recent report from 90min.com claimed Dybala’s representatives have reached out to the ‘big six’ in the Premier League in Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

The Argentine attacker allegedly believes he is ready for a move to England, despite Juventus wishing to tie him down to a new long-term contract.

But while Barnes can’t speak for the other five English clubs, he is certain that Liverpool have no need for Dybala.

“With Liverpool recently bringing in Diogo Jota it wouldn’t make any sense for Liverpool to try and bring a player in like Paulo Dybala, especially considering that Jota is playing so well,” the former Reds winger told BonusCodeBets.

“We talk about the front three and Jota, which is enough players in attacking options already. If you then look further back into the midfield three, he wouldn’t really fit there either.

“I can’t see a move for him happening at all. He’s not what Liverpool need right now; they are fine in that area of the pitch.”
