A late comeback saw the Blancos beat Sevilla in a nail-biting La Liga clash.

Real Madrid defeated Sevilla 3-2 in their La Liga game on Sunday. The Blancos pulled off an incredible second-half comeback, with Karim Benzema making his mark on another crucial victory.

A big step toward the La Liga title!

Real Madrid came into the game on the back of their incredible Champions League win over Chelsea on Tuesday. However, they soon found out that they were up for a tough battle at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

The hosts found a perfect start to the game when Ivan Rakitic scored their opener halfway through the first period. Sevilla stunned Real by doubling their lead through Erik Lamela only four minutes later.

Being 2-0 ahead at the end of the first half, Sevilla decided to sit deep to protect their lead against the La Liga leader. However, Real Madrid came back into the game with a sublime strike from Rodrygo in the 50th minute.

It seemed as if the Blancos were on their way for a quick comeback. However, the hosts managed to prevent them from scoring until the 82nd minute.

Following an assist from Dani Carvajal, Nacho made it 2-2 with a precise low shot from inside the box. Real Madrid increased the pressure on Sevilla’s exhausted backline after the equalizer, constantly using spaces down both flanks.

It was then Karim Benzema’s turn to add his name to the scoreline. Rodrygo completed his brilliant performance by providing a perfect cutback for his French teammate.

Following a few touches behind the six-yard box, Benzema smashed the ball into the back of the net to seal another vital victory for Real Madrid.

What’s next for Real Madrid?

The Blancos are 15 points away from Barcelona, who are their closest league rivals.

They will now prepare to meet Osasuna before returning to the Champions League, where they will battle it out with Manchester City on April 26.
