Cristiano Ronaldo heads the list of seven Juventus players who could become free agents in the summer of 2022.

Weston McKennie remains Juventus’ sole bit of business for this summer. The American midfielder has completed a €20 million permanent move from Schalke following an impressive season on loan.

As for player exits, Gianluigi Buffon has rejoined Parma on a free transfer. Fellow goalkeeper Stefano Gori has gone to Como in Serie B on loan, and Giorgio Chiellini is currently a free agent.

Extending deals for the Old Lady’s current stars, however, is the main talking point with the following seven players to be out of contract in 2022.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The biggest one is Ronaldo. The Portuguese ace may be on the wrong side of 30, but he remains a lethal presence in front of goal and banks a sweet €31 million a year in Turin.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ronaldo plans to stay at Juventus next season. His agent, Jorge Mendes, could soon begin talks with the Bianconeri over a potential one-year contract extension, which may include a 50% pay cut.

Paulo Dybala

Juventus want to extend Dybala’s six-year stay in Turin and will resume contract talks with his agent, Jorge Antun, at the start of next week.

The two parties failed to agree on a contract extension earlier in the year, which sparked speculation over a summer exit. Several top clubs were interested in making a transfer offer for Dybala. But the Argentine is open to staying at Juventus as long as he has a key role in manager Massimiliano Allegri’s plans.

Juan Cuadrado

Cuadrado reportedly banks €5 million per year and will be out of contract in 2022.

The 33-year-old Colombian, however, remains integral for the squad and his versatility has helped him thrive as a full-back and winger. Therefore, Juventus are likely to extend his contract by another 12 months.

Federico Bernardeschi

Since his €40 million arrival from Fiorentina in 2017, Bernardeschi has made 147 appearances. His importance, though, has dwindled as the years have rolled by. In fact, he made just eight starts in Serie A last season.

As things stand, Juventus have not opened talks for a new contract and are willing to listen to offers this summer rather than lose him for free in 2022.

Giorgio Chiellini

The veteran Italian defender is expected to sign a new one-year contract until June 2022 soon.

Chiellini, who is currently a free agent, made just 16 starts in Serie A last season amid injury problems but remains part of Allegri’s plans for next season.

Mattia Perin

The 28-year-old goalkeeper has returned to Juventus following a two-season loan spell at Genoa.

That said, Perin may not get a new contract offer from the club. He is set to play back-up to Wojciech Szczesny for the 2021/22 campaign and could then become a free agent next summer.

Mattia De Sciglio

Another returning loan star at risk of becoming a free agent is De Sciglio.

The right-back spent last season on loan at Lyon and enjoyed regular football over in France. He made 29 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit and has recently been linked with a summer move to Everton.

According to Calciomercato last month, Juventus would reportedly consider bids of around €5 million.
