Sergino Dest eager to partner up with USMNT speedster

Ahead of international duty with USMNT, Barcelona defender Serginho Dest hopes to combine forces with the Chelsea frontman.

Serginho Dest wants to link up with his teammate Christian Pulisic for the US men’s national team. It has come to his attention that the Chelsea star is “almost unstoppable” when he is in top form. Both the youngsters, Dest and Pulisic received a call for national representation earlier. The USNMT will face against Wales and Panama during the international break. However, Pulisic will be a doubter for US manager Gregg Berhalter following his hamstring debacle recently.

Moreover, Dest and Pulisic have played only one game together for their country. It was a 3-0 loss to neighbors Mexico back in September 2019. Though, it appears that the USMNT will power through this time around with talented teenagers in the team. Dest will feature along with Dortmund youngster Giovanni Reyna, and Pulisic to regain momentum after USMNT’s shocking failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Gregg Berhalter has named a 24-player roster for the 🇺🇸’s November camp in Europe.

The #USMNT will face 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 on Nov. 12 in Swansea and 🇵🇦 on Nov. 16 in Wiener Neustadt, Austria.

Additionally, young starlets Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams will contribute to the American dream of the World Cup. Dest, though, is excited to join forces with all his colleagues. We could see a potentially deadly trio with the likes of Reyna, Pulisic, and the Barca defender.

“I haven’t met Gio Reyna, so I don’t know him as a person, but I played with Pulisic,” Dest told ESPN. “He’s a really good player, they’re both really good players. I hope they keep working and we can reach something nice in the coming years.

“Pulisic is a really great player, he’s fast, [and] really good at dribbling. I saw in the first couple of [U.S.] training sessions before I made my debut against Mexico, he was so good, you know, in the training. I had some recovery sessions so I was just looking at the training, but he was almost unstoppable.

“And then in the games you see it, he plays really well. Hopefully, we can get a good connection on the field and can play with each other really well.”
