After a serious of fitness issues, Frank Lampard yet again revealed the absence of Chelsea striker ahead of the weekend’s clash.

It seems that the injury crisis does not end for the US international Christian Pulisic. Frank Lampard ruled him out of the Chelsea squad for weekend’s Premier League clash vs Southampton. Unfortunately, the American star has been troubled with a lot of problems during recent months.

Pulisic suffered from a hamstring issue in the 2020 FA Cup final delaying his consistent start to the new season. And although the Chelsea frontman returned to the field in early October. He only managed to rack five outings across all competitions. The 22-year-old could not play the midweek Champions League fixture against Rennes. But will also be out for the Sheffield United game.

Pulisic aggravated his hamstring pain during a warm-up meeting with Burnley last weekend. Moreover, now, Lampard announced that Chelsea will have training without the USMNT youngster.

The Blues boss told reporters when offering a fitness update: “[Pulisic] not fit to play, still suffering from his hamstring.

“He’s not training at the moment. Kepa [Arrizabalaga] is recovered. A slight bit of pain but in the squad.”

Lampard added when delivering more detail on the problem that is holding Pulisic back: “He trained at a low level in midweek. And wasn’t comfortable. We have to keep looking for the right solution.”
