Ismaila Sarr has not played for Watford since their incredible win over Manchester United.

Watford defeated Manchester United with a 4-1 result on November 20. Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr displayed one of his best performances of the season, scoring a goal for the Hornets in the first half.

However, Sarr suffered a knee ligament injury later on in the game. The Watford winger has been out of action since then, starting his long recovery process.

According to Watford’s official website, Sarr will undergo more tests in about a month. However, he might still miss out on this January’s Africa Cup of Nations, depending on the results.

The Watford star is a key player for Senegal, forming a deadly connection alongside Sadio Mane on the wings. However, Senegal might go into the tournament without the services of the 23-year-old.

Sarr is not the only Watford star who is out with injury. Nicolas Nkoulou has suffered a hamstring injury that will keep him out of action “until into the new year”. The Cameroonian defender might also miss out on the AFCONs alongside Sarr.
In addition to the two African stars, goalkeeper Ben Foster will also not be able to play for Watford until January.

Claudio Ranieri’s side sit 16th in the Premier League, only four points above the relegation zone. The Hornets will play without some of their key players against Chelsea on Wednesday.
