The Hornets on the other hand had just won one game out of their previous four fixtures and Claudio Ranieri looked to achieve something from this fixture. And they managed to stun their opponents with an incredible performance. Cristiano Ronaldo and his side had a memorable evening to forget.

A floating cross from Sancho was precisely connected by the leaping Portuguese great towards Van de Beek. The latter made no mistake to head the ball past Foster for opening their account.
Regardless of efforts from Ronaldo and his teammates, Man Utd could not capitalise on their goal as Watford brushed them aside in the last phase of the game. Further goals from substitute Joao Pedro and Dennis in the injury time completely humiliated the visiting lads.
With back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, the Red Devils now drop down to the seventh rank on the table. Whereas, Watford stand 16th in the league with 13 points just above Leeds.
