The Spanish giants want to offload Martin Odegaard before the end of the transfer window for around €40 million.

Carlo Ancelotti hasn’t offered Odegaard any assurances regarding his role within the team. The Real Madrid coach, therefore, will leave him out of his squad for Saturday’s La Liga opener against Alaves.

Now Odegaard’s status is clear, Arsenal could make a move. The Gunners have made it no secret of their wish to re-sign the 22-year-old, who had an impressive loan spell at the Emirates last season. And with Joe Willock off to Newcastle for £25m (€29.4m), Mikel Arteta’s side have the funds to complete a permanent deal. [Goal]

Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, allegedly offered the striker to Chelsea for around €80m. But Thomas Tuchel’s side felt the asking price was too much for a 32-year-old and didn’t take up the opportunity.

There was also a matter of convincing Bayern Munich, who have emphasized their desire to keep Lewandowski. [Christian Falk – Bayern Insider]

Willock swaps Arsenal for Newcastle

Newcastle have completed the signing of Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock for around £25 million (€29.4m).

The 21-year-old, who impressed on loan at St. James’ Park last season, has signed a long-term deal until 2026. He will wear the No.28 jersey for the 2021/22 campaign.

Tottenham begin talks for Milenkovic

After transfer talks with West Ham broke down, Nikola Milenkovic could now head to Tottenham.

The Lilywhites have entered negotiations with Fiorentina for the 23-year-old Serbian defender as their attempts to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna make little progress. [Sky Sports]

Could Aubameyang leave Arsenal?

The Gunners could consider offers for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following his abysmal run of form.

The 32-year-old, who earns a £250,000 base salary per week, has struggled to score goals since signing a lucrative contract last season. In fact, he scored just 10 goals in 29 Premier League games as the club crashed to an eighth-place finish.

This form has left Mikel Arteta concerned, and the Arsenal manager may resort to offloading Aubameyang. [Times, subscription required]
