Romelu Lukaku has made his comeback to Stamford Bridge as he completed a lofty signing with Chelsea from Inter Milan.
Romelu Lukaku has finally made his return to Stamford Bridge as he completed his signing with Chelsea on Thursday. After spending two years with Inter Milan, the Belgium star has moved to England for a price of £98 million.
In years gone by, Lukaku featured for the Blues between 2011 and 2014. And now, the big man has committed his future at Chelsea until 2026 (five-year deal).
As per reports, Inter were grudging to let Lukaku leave, but they could not deny the delicious offer that Chelsea presented. In fact, the ongoing pandemic situation had made a negative financial impact on the club, and this deal was a go-to for them.
The 28-year-old has now been officially revealed at Stamford Bridge in the wake of the 2021-22 season. “I’m happy and blessed to be back at this wonderful club,” Lukaku exclaimed on the club’s official website.
“It’s been a long journey for me. I came here as a kid who had a lot to learn. Now I’m coming back with a lot of experience and more mature.”
“The relationship I have with this club means so much to me, as you know. I have supported Chelsea as a kid. And now to be back and try to help them win more titles is an amazing feeling.”
