Real Madrid & Barcelona plot moves for Fernandes
The biggest twist of all, in terms of transfer rumors on Saturday, is Real Madrid and Barcelona’s alleged pursuit of Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese midfielder, who only joined Manchester United back in January, reportedly had a fall-out with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Although the pair have gone on record to deny any claims of a rift between them.
But that hasn’t stopped speculation growing on Fernandes’ future, with Spain’s biggest clubs monitoring his situation at Old Trafford [The Sun].
Zabaleta retires from football
35-year-old Pablo Zabaleta has ended ‘a wonderful’ 18-year career that included spells with Espanyol, Manchester City, and West Ham United.
The 58-time Argentina international spent the bulk of his playing days in England, winning two Premier League titles and making the PFA Team of the Year in 2012/13 with City. He left West Ham in June, but only confirmed his retirement on Friday. [Twitter]
