Chelsea’s pursuit of Rice could send Jorginho to Arsenal

Jorginho has started in both of Chelsea’s Premier League games this season, providing a goal and assist. That doesn’t seem enough, however, to guarantee himself a future at Stamford Bridge.

Blues boss Frank Lampard wants to sign another defensive midfielder in Declan Rice. The West Ham star has developed into a promising young talent since Chelsea released him at the age of 15. Therefore, Lampard wants to attempt to re-sign him. Should any move for the England international materialize, though, Jorginho could end up at London rivals Arsenal. [Mirror]

PSG bide their time for Rudiger

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Antonio Rudiger, but are in no rush to pursue a deal. The Ligue 1 champions are waiting to see whether the Chelsea defender could be available on loan or for sale. [The Telegraph]

Frank Lampard is trying to trim down his squad after an expensive summer overhaul, with Rudiger tipped to become one casualty. The 27-year-old appears to have fallen down the pecking order following the arrivals of Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr.

Tottenham in talks for Skriniar

Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer of Milan Skriniar’s and would love the opportunity to sign him. The 25-year-old is also interested in the idea of a Tottenham move, but Inter Milan aren’t willing to sell their prized center-back on the cheap.

The Serie A giants are holding out for around £55m, which is far higher than what Spurs’ valuation of between £25m and £30m for Skriniar. [The Sun]

Sevilla expect another bid for Kounde

Pep Guardiola hopes to add another central defender before the transfer window closes, despite signing Nathan Ake, and believes Jules Kounde would be a good fit for his requirements at the Etihad Stadium.

After reports of a €55m bid fell through, Sevilla sporting director Monchi confirmed ‘a club’ is interested in Kounde. He also rejected claims the center-back has agreed on personal terms with Manchester City.

Should the Citizens make an offer between €65-70m, however, then Sevilla will likely accept. [ESPN]

Aouar agrees on Arsenal move

Houssem Aouar has been a top target for Mikel Arteta all summer, but hesitated because Arsenal aren’t in the Champions League. Therefore, he delayed deciding amid rumored interest from Barcelona and Juventus.

No concrete offers have emerged from either club, however, with Aouar now agreeing to join the Gunners instead. Technical director Edu is set to begin finalizing a deal with Lyon shortly. [Telefoot]
