Antonio Rudiger uncertain about his career at Chelsea after missing PL openers and Lampard considering his omission for the EFL Cup.

Chelsea began the Premier League with a bang. The Blues won their league opener against Brighton 3-1 at Falmer Stadium. Reece James scored a venomous goal from outside the box. Whereas, Jorginho and Kurt Zouma added to the club’s delightful victory.

Meanwhile, Rudiger was left on the bench for the starting game. The gaffer Frank Lampard decided to play Christensen instead.

The German international registered a similar fate against Liverpool. Lampard’s men lost to the Reds at Stamford Bridge in the absence of Rudiger.

Another such player was Callum Hudon-Odoi. Although the English footballer expects to play the game against Barnsley in the EFL Cup. This indicates that Rudiger is not in the cookbooks for Lampard. The gaffer seems to have other plans for the entire campaign.

Adding coal to fire, PSG’s Thiago Silva enforces tough competition for the centre back position. The summer signing is expected to play against the Championship club on Wednesday.

Moreover, Lampard’s selection of squad for the EFL game crushed Rudiger’s hopes. The Brazilian along with Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, and Fikayo Tomori make the starting XI. Of course, the captain stands to be Cesar Azpilicueta.

Rudiger sounded fully fit after his significant knee and groin injuries. The German joined Chelsea in 2007 from the Serie A club AS Roma. Furthermore, he played 90 minutes for both of Germany’s matches in the Nations League this month.

The 27-year-old had already opted to check his future possibilities according to Sky Sports. He looks to go out on a loan with the certainty of first-team football. And with the European Championships close by, Rudiger is in a debate with himself.

However, Chelsea does not want to sell him to a Premier League club. With only two years left in his contract, the club hopes to release him on a permanent deal.
