Christie becomes Arsenal’s latest transfer target

Could Ryan Christie be the solution to Arsenal’s attacking midfield problems? The 25-year-old hasn’t always been at the top of his game this season, but he will be out of contract next year. And as he appears unlikely to sign a new deal, Celtic may put him up for sale in the summer.

Premier League sides Southampton, Leicester City, Newcastle, Brighton, and Burnley are all reportedly interested.

But Arsenal hope Christie’s good relationship with his former Celtic teammate Kieran Tierney will turn the tide in their favor. [90 Min]

Liverpool shut the door on Shaqiri exit

Diogo Jota’s knee injury has put Xherdan Shaqiri back in contention at Anfield. The Swiss winger, who has started just two of his six appearances in all competitions this season, was expected to be sold.

But considering Jota’s injury, along with Shaqiri’s versatility and attacking threat, Liverpool appear to have reconsidered. [Liverpool Echo]

Real Madrid lead the chase for Alaba

David Alaba has refused a contract extension offer from Bayern Munich and, therefore, can leave in the summer as a free agent.

Several European giants have reportedly expressed an interest, but Real Madrid have apparently won the race. The defender could sign a four-year contract with the Spanish giants, worth a reported €10m. [Marca]

Is Sancho to Man United back on?

The Red Devils tried with all their might to sign Jadon Sancho last summer. But they failed to match Borussia Dortmund’s asking price of €120m, prompting the German club to shut the door on a potential transfer.

Manchester United, however, believe they can sign the 20-year-old winger for a much lower fee this year. [90 Min]

Juventus want Llorente back

The Bianconeri have been lacking in firepower compared to their rivals this season, with only the seventh-best goal record in Serie A. Therefore, Andrea Pirlo plans to sign another attacker in January.

The Juventus manager has reportedly set his sights on Fernando Llorente. The 35-year-old played in Turin between 2013 and 2015, but has since struggled for regular opportunities at Tottenham and Napoli recently. [Tuttosport]
