The Red Devils boss comments on the availability of three of his players for their first match after the international break.
Jadon Sancho is fit to face Newcastle United on Saturday while Scot McTominay is a doubt for the match, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.
Alex Telles, meanwhile, who has missed all three of Manchester United’s opening games of 2021-22 due to an ankle problem he picked up in training in July, remains out injured.
Sancho pulled out of the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers after sustaining a “minor knock.” However, recent reports suggest his withdrawal was more of a precautionary measure, and Solskjaer appears to have confirmed it on Friday as he insists the winger is “fit and available.”
As for McTominay, he underwent groin surgery over the international break. It was feared the midfielder would face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but as it turns out he is on track for a speedy recovery.
“Jadon has come back in with a minor knock but he’s trained the last couple of days. He’s disappointed he couldn’t play for England but determined to be fit and he’s available. So that’s a positive,” Solskjaer said during his pre-match press conference ahead of Man United vs Newcastle United.
“Scott has recovered very quickly from the operation so, if he’s going to play or not, I’m not sure, probably not, depending on who we’ve got available.
“Telles is not 100 per cent. He’s still a few weeks [away].”
