The Liverpool and Egypt superstar won two more awards on Monday night after finishing seventh in the 2021 Ballon d’Or rankings.

Mohamed Salah won the Golden Foot and the Football Supporters’ Association Men’s Player of the Year on Monday.

Lionel Messi may have taken home the Ballon d’Or, but Salah can take pride in winning the iconic Golden Foot – an award the Argentine has never won.

The Golden Foot is an international honor that acknowledges players aged 28 or over for their unique achievements and personality. Salah is the 19th recipient of the award.

His wife, Magi Sadeq, was present in Monaco on Monday night to receive the award on his behalf.

“Winning the Golden Foot award is crazy for me,” said Salah in a video message: “It is a great honor for me to win this special award because many football legends have won it over the past years.”

Legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba, and Ronaldinho have all won the Golden Foot – which began in 2003.

A second FSA award

Salah also became the first player to win the Football Supporters’ Association Men’s Player of the Year twice at the FSA awards, having previously done so in 2018.

“I’m honored to be the first player to win this award twice. I would like to thank the organizers and all the football fans who voted for me,” Salah said.

The 29-year-old came out on top ahead of Mason Mount, Phil Foden, Ruben Dias, Michail Antonio, and Youri Tielemans after almost 400,000 votes.
