Mohamed Salah insists Liverpool must show consistency if they are to stand a chance of retaining their Premier League crown.

Mohamed Salah says Liverpool need to win every single game for the rest of the season in order to retain the title.

Despite cruising past an in-form West Ham by a 3-1 scoreline on Sunday, the Reds remain four points behind title rivals Manchester City who have a game in hand.

Salah continued his good form against the Hammers with a brace at the Olympic Stadium.

With the goals, the Egyptian took his league tally to 15 goals.

The double ended his six-game goalless run in the Premier League and he also went on to offer an unprompted criticism of VAR.

Salah has now called on his side to be consistent from now until the end of the season.

He said to Sky Sports after the match: “Every year is like that: if you want to win the league, you have to win every game.”

“You just need to keep winning if you want to win the Premier League. It has been a good week.”

“It was a good win for us today, a second game in a row. It was a tough game, they played a good game. I have scored a few goals against them, they are a tough team. We just need to carry on and keep winning.”

In Liverpool’s previous game against Tottenham, Salah saw a goal ruled out by VAR after Firmino was deemed to have handled the ball in the build-up. The 28-year-old has now revealed he is not a fan of VAR at all.

“I don’t like VAR, it kills the game off. That joy of football” he added. ‘In other countries they give the striker more space but here, I don’t want to complain about it or get fined, it is just my opinion about VAR. I don’t like it.”
