Mohamed Salah has been in a red-hot form recently, however, will Liverpool be able to shoulder his extraordinary pay rise?

According to sources from Football Insider, Mohamed Salah is demanding a mouth-drooling £500,000-a-week salary at Liverpool. During the last week, the Egyptian intimidated the owners, Fenway Sports Group, that he wants to end his career at Anfield.

It appears that the US-based owners will have to carefully handle this situation if they wish to keep their star striker at the club. As per reports, Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, has put forth a prospect of a contract worth £500,000-a-week for him. And officials at Liverpool are completely aware that they will have to make the Egyptian one of the top paid footballers on this planet.

Salah’s recent displays on the field have been out of this world, with a comfortable hat-trick against Manchester United on Sunday. After scoring in the 10th successive match, the 29-year-old has now reached 15 goals already across all competitions, that too in just 12 appearances.

Currently, there have been no further movements regarding Salah’s contract, which expires in the summer of 2023. However, we will have to wait patiently to see if Fenway Sports Group will accept this extraordinary demand.
