After scoring his goal against Chelsea, Bukayo Saka made a surprising revelation after the match that left everybody stunned.
Bukayo Saka’s goal against Chelsea is one of those unexpected shots that no player means to make but it’s still impressive. There have been countless goals like that throughout history and the scorer mostly accepts he never meant it. Saka’s effort was clearly a precise cross to the striker inside the box but a shot is what came out.
As a result, we saw what can be arguably considered Saka’s most important goal of his short-lived career. After the game, he was quizzed about the effort by BBC Sport. The player surprised everybody when he stated that he absolutely intended to take the shot over the goalkeeper’s head.
Saka denies his goal was good luck.
In the replay, we can see Saka clearly trying to deliver a cross to the striker. However, he flat out denied this was the case as he saw the goalkeeper out of his position: “I saw him off his line so I thought I could chip him. [Really?] Yeah! We feel that we are a good team who have been unlucky with results and red cards but this is a big one for our confidence.
“It’s been tricky, tough, but we have come out of it and we are trying our best. We grew up with each other, the young players all want to play and have the passion for this club. We want to make the fans happy.”
