Arsenal truly needed a victory in today’s London Derby against Chelsea at the Emirates. Mikel Arteta was moving closer to the worst run in the club’s history during the Premier League era if they lost today. But the Gunners completely changed the odds as they delivered a solid performance against the Blues. Frank Lampard proved he still isn’t ready to be considered a title contender as he keeps his poor record against top clubs.

The match started with a penalty committed by Reece James during the first half. Alexandre Lacazette turned the chance into a goal after taking the shot from the spot. With one minute left in the first half, Granit Xhaka scored a beautiful free-kick to give the Gunners a 2-0 result before half time. Arteta still remained serious despite his team’s good performance, he was afraid something would backfire after the break.

Saka steals the show vs Chelsea.

But to everybody’s surprise, the Gunners remained strong during the second half and they got to score another goal. Bukayo Saka took a ball on the right flank and attempted to deliver a good cross that got in the back of the net. If you look at the shot he took, you can clearly see he attempted to pass the ball. However, Saka scored a fantastic goal that nobody expected.

That was the 3-0 for the Gunners as the world looked completely baffled by what was happening on the pitch. Tammy Abraham managed to pull one back for Chelsea near the end of the match but Bernd Leno prevented the Gunners from scoring a second goal after saving a penalty. With this final 3-1 result, Arsenal is finally back to winning ways.
