Sadio Mane reveals who is the best player in the world

The Senegalese forward has no doubt in his mind that there is not a single player doing better than Mohamed Salah right now.

Sadio Mane is certain Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah is the best player in the world right now.

The Egypt international has been virtually unstoppable this season, supplying 22 goals and nine assists in 24 games across all competitions. He also tops the Premier League’s goal and assist charts.

Yet, to the surprise of many fans, Salah finished in seventh-place in the 2021 Ballon d’Or rankings.

However, based on Salah’s current form, Mane has no doubt where his Reds teammate stands amongst the world’s best.

“Can you say one player better than him right now?” he told Soccer AM about Salah.

“Every single week he shows it on the pitch. You can’t disagree with it. He is the best player. He’s always scoring for us. We are just lucky to have him in our squad.”

Salah and Mane are scheduled to return to action next Tuesday away to Leicester City in the Premier League.

The forwards are preparing for their final games for the club before departing to Cameroon next month to represent their respective nations in the Africa Cup of the Nations tournament.
