After a lot of hard work from the Barcelona board, it appears that Lautaro Martinez’s agents have been side-hustling a deal with Real Madrid.

Just when we thought that the Real Madrid vs Barcelona war couldn’t get any more interesting, Los Blancos come after Lautaro Martinez. To those who aren’t aware, the Argentine striker has been the Catalan club’s most burning desire to replace Luis Suarez as the striker.

They’ve been grooming the player to come to Barcelona for months but the reality is more eye-opening than we expected. As it turns out, the club from the Spanish capital has been taking meetings with the striker’s representatives.

In fact, there is a report from Sports Mediaset that claims an agreement has been made between the player and the Spanish club. However, they did it in secret for a couple different reasons.

This could cause a ripple effect that will have a strong repercussion at FC Barcelona. Lautaro Martinez was supposed to be that striker who would replace Luis Suarez and become Lionel Messi’s new “partner in crime”.

Real Madrid deny the rumors.

The report suggests that the terms between Lautaro and Real Madrid have been agreed, but they wanted to keep it on the downlow for a simple reason. Inter Milan didn’t want their current negotiations for Arturo Vidal to die. They are very close to striking a deal for the Chilean midfielder.

Now that the cat’s out of the bag, Real Madrid had to come out to deny any claim made by Sport Mediaset. Los Blancos spoke to Diario AS and assured everyone that there are no negotiations for Lautaro Martinez at the moment.

However, this is all that it takes to make all bookies go berserk. Suddenly, place the Spanish giants inside the odds of signing the Argentine striker. As of right now, FC Barcelona are still the frontrunners to get Martinez. But Real Madrid is already a close second at the moment.

This transfer saga just got a lot more interesting with this new information coming to light. We will sign up for a battle between Real Madrid and Barcelona any day of the week.
