Businesswoman Evangeline Shen is reportedly heading a £280m takeover bid for Newcastle and already has her sights set on Cristiano Ronaldo.

Bellagraph Nova Group (BNG), founded by Singapore-based investors Evangeline Shen, Nelson Loh, and Terence Loh, announced talks were underway with Newcastle United on Monday regarding a £280m takeover.

BNG stated that negotiations were at an advanced stage and had plans to contribute to the club’s development.

The Paris-based organization began talks last week with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley, who saw a £300m takeover by a Saudi Arabian-backed consortium fall through last month.

But BNG, who earned £9.154bn in revenue last year alone, has the support of former Newcastle strikers Alan Shearer and Michael Chopra, with plans already underway for the next superstar signing.

Instead of going for a 20-goal striker or something similar, however, Shen wants the best of the best. In that case, the Daily Star claims she plans to sign Ronaldo to lead the Magpies to a glorious new era.

This comes just days after rumors emerged claiming that Juventus attempted to offload Ronaldo this summer. Although the star’s entourage has since rubbished those claims.

New Bianconeri boss Andrea Pirlo, meanwhile, has reportedly contacted Ronaldo to reassure him those claims are false and told him how he plans to use him for next season.
