Reports in Italy claim that Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are two likely options for Massimiliano Allegri as he prepares to mount a comeback in football.

While Allegri has been away on a sabbatical since leaving Juventus last year, the Italian’s future remains one of constant speculation. Everyone wants to see him back, and it appears the man himself feels the same way. The question is where will it be?

A return to Juventus, where he won five Serie A titles in a row, seemed a remote possibility recently. The club dismissed Maurizio Sarri after an abysmal Champions League campaign and allegedly considered Allegri along with Mauricio Pochettino and Simone Inzaghi. However, they ultimately chose the inexperienced Andrea Pirlo as their next manager.

Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal were other clubs linked with a move for Allegri over the last year.

According to Calcio Mercato, Inter and PSG are the 53-year-old’s most probably options for a return. Both sides have allegedly had problems with their coaches, Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel respectively, this season. Therefore, Allegri could find himself back in the hot seat.

Inter’s relationship with Conte has apparently turned sour after the coach slammed the board for offering both himself and the players ‘very little protection’ from criticism this season.

At this moment of time, however, chances of Conte departing the San Siro are remote. It’s understood the tension between coach and club has cooled a little. Hence, Allegri is more of a standby option for now.

The former AC Milan boss also remains on PSG’s radar. The Parisians are obviously on cloud nine after overcoming Atalanta on Wednesday to make their first Champions League semi-final appearance in 25 years. But it seems there are still no guarantees for Tuchel.
