Antonio Rudiger reveals he has been whispering the advantages of playing at Chelsea in the ears of the club’s transfer target Kai Havertz.

Bayer Leverkusen Peter Bosz on Monday revealed that he had no expectations from Kai Havertz to participate in the team training sessions anymore.

Bosz’s message only further added fuel to the speculations regarding the future of Havertz, who has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea for quite a while now.

It is understood that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Leverkusen over their asking price for the German midfielder.

The transfer is expected to be made official in the coming days. And when it happens, he will become Chelsea’s sixth big-money signing of this summer after Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr, Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner, and Hakim Ziyech. The 21-year old will also replace Kepa Arrizabalaga as the club’s most expensive acquisition.

Antonio Rudiger earlier revealed that he played some part in convincing national teammate Werner to choose Stamford Bridge as his next destination after RB Leipzig.

Speaking in a press conference on Tuesday, Rudiger suggests that he would also deserve some credit for Havertz’s imminent move to Chelsea.

“I made my contribution to Timo,” the center-back said, as per Goal. “I hope that it will happen with Kai too.”
