The Portuguese superstar believes United still have a lot to fight for until the end of the season.
Since making his sensational return to Old Trafford in the summer, Cristiano Ronaldo has managed to re-establish himself as a key player in Manchester United’s lineup. However, his performances have not been enough to lead United to any silverware, with a Champions League elimination being their latest setback.
Now that United’s chances of finishing in the top four are also narrowing, Ronaldo’s role is becoming even more crucial. The Portuguese icon won the club’s Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for March.
In an Instagram message after winning the prizes, Ronaldo urged his teammates to continue fighting for their season’s objectives.
He wrote: “Individual achievements are always welcome, but they’re worth so much more when they are connected to collective wins.
“There are still many things to fight for until the end of the season and we can never quit on achieving the goals that remain possible and within our reach.
“Thanks to everyone who voted for the Goal Of The Month and Player Of The Month awards. Let’s go for more!
“Let’s fight until our last breath, Let’s go, Devils!”
With the Premier League campaign entering its final phase, United are facing an uphill battle to secure a top-four finish. Following their underwhelming draw against Leicester City, Ronaldo and co will meet Everton in their next league game on Saturday.
