The Portuguese superstar is keen to leave Man Utd after their failure to secure a Champions League spot.

Former Manchester United star Louis Saha has hoped Cristiano Ronaldo would stop ‘thinking about himself’ and stay at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo has started searching for a new club since the start of the summer transfer window. His efforts have led to little success, but he has missed most of Man Utd‘s pre-season preparations.

CR7 came back to start for the Red Devils in their last friendly match before the new campaign. But, his decision to leave the stadium after getting substituted enraged Erik ten Hag.

According to English sources, Ronaldo’s representatives are actively offering the Portuguese superstar to potential suitors.

However, Saha believes his former teammate needs to see the bigger picture and stay loyal to the Red Devils.

“In some way, from Cristiano Ronaldo’s point of view it’s a bit unrealistic to ask now a club of this size to adapt to him and his dream,” Saha told Sky Bet.

“I’m not Cristiano but as someone who seems to be a supporter of Manchester United, I have felt like he hasn’t shown completely enough of that, he is thinking about himself.

“I am not going to judge him because he is an immense player and I’m not in his position, but I would have loved him to stay because he’s a terrific player.

“No one can judge his actions at this moment because it’s his own career.”

Man Utd will open their new Premier League campaign with a match against Brighton on Sunday. Let’s see if Ten Hag will include the 37-year-old in his lineup for the game.
