The legendary Brazilian striker has revealed who he rates as the world’s current best attacker.

Real Madrid star Karim Benzema is the best striker in the world right now, according to Ronaldo Nazario.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit in 2018, Benzema has flourished as Real Madrid’s main man. The Frenchman has supplied 24 goals and nine assists in 28 games this season across all competitions. He also tops the LaLiga goal charts on 17 goals, five clear of his nearest rivals.

In fact, Ronaldo backed him to win the 2021 Ballon d’Or in October.

Now the Brazilian has claimed Benzema is above the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe as the world’s best striker.

In a chat on Christian Vieri’s Twitch show Bobo TV, he told his former Inter Milan teammate: “Benzema, no doubts about it [on who is the world’s best striker].

“Lewandowski after him. Haaland will become the No.1, but the other two are better than him at the moment.

“Mbappe is also really strong. I’ve read he’s signed a €50m-a-year contract with Real Madrid. Surely, we played at the wrong time.”

Benzema will hope to live up to his statement on Thursday as Real Madrid visit Athletic Club in a Copa del Rey quarter-final match.
