The Juventus superstar is committed to bringing his A-game every time he takes to the pitch for his nation in the upcoming tournament.

Cristiano Ronaldo remains motivated as Portugal prepare to start the defense of their Euro crown.

Portugal kick off their Euro 2020 campaign by taking on Hungary at the Ferenc Puskas Stadium on June 15. A Selecao then lock horns with Germany on June 19 before facing 2018 World Cup winners France in the final matchday of ‘group of death’ Group F.

Fernando Santos’ men, as always, will look up to their captain for inspiration who has a strong reputation of delivering at the biggest stage. And the Juventus superstar, who could make new entries to his long and glittering record book, is committed to bringing his A-game to this summer’s competition.

“I’m as motivated, or more, than I was back in 2004,” insisted Ronaldo in an interview for the Portuguese federation.

“The Portuguese fans can expect the same as always, a team with motivation and ambition. We’ll have a positive mentality that things will go well. The team and all Portuguese fans must believe things will go well.

“The captain is good. I’ve been working well alongside my teammates and the coaching staff. We’re focused on working well.

“I hope things go as well as possible, now that the preparation work is done. We just need to fine tune a few things.

“Now the ball just needs to start rolling. We want Portugal to start well, with a win against Hungary.”
