Despite Germany beating Portugal 4-2 on the day, the Germans were powerless to stop Cristiano Ronaldo from matching Miroslav Klose’s record.

Cristiano Ronaldo has equaled German legend Miroslav Klose for the most combined goals at World Cup and European Championship finals.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner broke the deadlock in Portugal’s Euro 2020 match against Germany on Saturday to take his tally in the two international tournaments up to an impressive 19 goals.

Only Klose, who won the World Cup with Germany in 2014 and the Golden Shoe in the 2006 tournament, can boast a similar tally.

Portugal may have lost 4-2 in Munich in the end, but there was no stopping Ronaldo from making even more history.
