Disappointed, the superstar footballer headed straight for the tunnel at full-time after yet another dull display from the Red Devils.

Cristiano Ronaldo has challenged Manchester United to “get back on their feet and show their true strength” after the defeat against Aston Villa.

Ronaldo returned to the Manchester United starting XI for Saturday’s Premier League game but he was unable to save his side from suffering a second successive loss.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner stood and watched as Bruno Fernandes wasted a golden opportunity that could’ve saved them the embarrassment of dropping all three points at their own home. United were awarded a penalty in stoppage time, but Fernandes sent his shot well over the bar.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men could’ve also climbed to the top of the league table with a win but instead dropped to fourth place following the 1-0 loss – but Ronaldo remains optimistic.

The superstar footballer wrote in an Instagram post: “This is only the beginning, but in a competition as strong as the Premier League, every point counts!

“We must react immediately, get back on our feet and show our true strength.”
