The Italian manager is among the candidates to take over as the new permanent coach at Man United.
Manchester United appointed Ralf Rangnick as their interim coach earlier this month. However, their search to find a new permanent gaffer continues.
The club are eyeing several options as they reportedly consider PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino as their top candidate for the job. Different sources have linked Erik ten Haag, Zinedine Zidane, Roberto Mancini, and several other top coaches to Man United.
In a new interview, Mancini reacted to reports around his potential move to Old Trafford.
Asked about a verbal agreement between him and a Premier League club, the Italian coach responded:
“It’s all false,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport (via Metro).
“My only goal is to get to the World Cup and be able to win it.”
Man United have started strong under Rangnick. The Red Devils defeated Crystal Palace with Fred’s stunning strike on Sunday while climbing up to sixth place on the league table. Having just appointed his first assistant, Rangnick will lead Man United against Young Boys on Wednesday.
The Red Devils are leading the Group F table with 10 points. Rangnick’s side will secure their top spot in the group if they manage to collect at least one point from the game.
