Rivaldo believes Ousmane Dembele would be a decent coup for Manchester United, who seem to have lost out on Jadon Sancho.
Manchester United’s pursuit of Sancho seems to have hit a dead end, with Borussia Dortmund expecting to keep the winger for next season. Therefore, they have begun to search for alternatives.
Reports recently claimed Gareth Bale and Douglas Costa were on the shortlist for the Red Devils. However, Rivaldo reckons Dembele could be an even better fit.
The France international has struggled to make an impact ever since joining Barcelona in 2017 amid injury and disciplinary problems. In fact, he’s only made nine appearances in all competitions this season thanks to a hamstring injury.
Rivaldo wrote on Betfair: “He could be what I call a ‘joker’ for Barcelona, coming off the bench to affect the match, as he is very talented.
“There are rumors about him leaving the club at the end of the season, but while he is around, the manager should use him.
“Manchester United are rumored to be interested in him after having difficulties in their bid to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. Dembele could be a good option for United.
“He’s very quick and talented, and I believe he could prosper in the Premier League.”
