We have an updated report on Diego Maradona’s surgery recovery in Argentina after being diagnosed with a blood clot in his head.

Diego Maradona just got brain surgery last week as an emergency after doctors discovered a blood clot in his brain. He was experiencing some problems to walk and speak clearly over the last few months. This issue got increasingly more severe as the days went by and his personal doctor felt the need to check him into a hospital in La Plata, Argentina. Multitudes of people went to the clinic to offer their support to the legendary player. If anything happened to Diego Maradona, the whole football world would go into a dark place.

We all know he is amongst the most beloved figures in the sport, which means millions of people would be severely affected by anything terrible happening to him. Fortunately, the surgery went well and we just got news on his check-out from the hospital. His lawyer, Matias Morla spoke to the press and gave them the update everybody was waiting for. Diego Maradona is about to go home to continue his recovery there.

Maradona is still on the mend.

Morla was very clear with his statement. Diego Maradona is out of the woods but he still needs time to recover completely.

He spoke with Ole about the legend’s upcoming hours: “I was just with Diego. We are very happy with all the attention from the Olivos Clinic. Everybody feels grateful for Dr. Luque’s participation as well as councilman Garcia. We would also like to acknowledge the psychiatrist’s involvement in this case. Diego just went through the most difficult moment of his entire life. I believe it’s a miracle they detected that blood clot in his head that could’ve cost him his life.

“Thank god those dangers disappeared last week thanks to Dr. Luque’s intervention, who detected everything in due time. Diego is in one piece, he wants to settle all the personal problems he has. We expect him to be discharged from the hospital today but we don’t know the time. What we do know is that Diego is alive and well. You can expect Maradona for many years to come.

“What he needs now is to be united with his family and surrounded by health professionals. When I talk about family union, the situation is clear and it goes beyond Maradona, Morla, or Perez. He needs to mend things with his blood relatives, they need to respect each other and coordinate all the visitations. Diego needs to rehabilitate. We need to give him peace and union, we all know that his health is the common goal that should be above everything else.”
