According to a fresh report, Real Madrid is close to sending one of their strikers to the Bundesliga during the winter transfer window.
Real Madrid is currently having a problem with the strikers they have within the squad. Other than Karim Benzema, the rest is not living up to Zinedine Zidane’s expectations. Players like Mariano Diaz or Luka Jovic have struggled to find themselves a place in the squad. The gaffer prefers using less experienced players in their positions without allowing them to get a chance to shine.
Both cases are quite pressing but Luka Jovic’s situation is more alarming because the club paid over €60 million for his transfer. In recent weeks, Eintracht Frankfurt’s manager hinted at a possible return for the Serbian striker. Today, this possibility was just confirmed by Diario AS in a surprising report. According to the Spanish site, the forward is in advanced negotiations to return to his former club on a loan.
Jovic’s salary is the only problem.
As we all heard from the manager himself, Eintracht Frankfurt is not willing to pay Luka Jovic’s salary (€9,6 million per season). The only reason this negotiation is taking so long is that the Bundesliga club wants to get Real Madrid to pay for half of the player’s wages.
Zinedine Zidane is convinced that a 6-month loan is ideal for the player to regain confidence and return to his best level of performance. Florentino Perez is refusing to sell him to any other club, especially after making a €60 million effort to sign him. It all points to an agreement coming within the next hours between Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt for Luka Jovic’s loan. Zinedine Zidane will have one less striker at the club from now until the end of the season. Perhaps this might be the ideal moment to start making inquiries for players like Haaland or Mbappe.
