Zidane’s side could be set for another injury boost ahead of a crucial run of fixtures in La Liga and the Champions League.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is reportedly set to return for next week’s Champions League match against Atalanta and may even feature in Saturday’s La Liga match against Elche.

The 34-year-old hasn’t featured since sustaining a knee injury in Real Madrid’s Spanish Super Cup semi-final loss to Athletic Club on January 14. He underwent surgery three weeks later, which the club described as a success.

According to Marca, Ramos could return to action as early as on Saturday. He hopes to get a good week of training under his belt and get some game time against Elche to improve his fitness ahead of the all-important Atalanta match.

The center-back is allegedly confident he’ll be ready to face the Italian side for the second leg of Real Madrid’s Champions League last-16 tie.

Los Blancos, of course, won the first leg in Bergamo 1-0 through an 86th-minute Ferland Mendy goal.

Eden Hazard, Mariano Diaz, and Dani Carvajal are the other big names currently sidelined through injury.

Manager Zinedine Zidane, however, welcomed Karim Benzema back last weekend. The Frenchman marked his return with the equalizing goal in the 1-1 derby draw with Atletico Madrid.
